Basic Playback     (7.65)
The E100 covers most of the playback basics, but does so in a somewhat unintuitive way. The center key will perform play/pause functionality, which is fine. The part that's a bit odd is that up/down will skip from song to song, rather than the traditional left/right. This actually took us longer to get used to than we would've guessed. Left is the back button on the playback screens, but there's no label on the key or screen to remind you of that.

The right button is the menu button, but you'll need to press and hold it to bring up the menu. If you just press it, you'll set the start of an audio clip; press it again to set the end of the clip.

This is the playback screen. It has a basic set-up,
but remains unintuitive.

This is the video playback menu, which provides a
good amout of information.

Advanced Playback     (5.75)
The E100 has a few advanced playback options, some more useful than others. By far the most complicated and seemingly least useful is the ability to create song clips. You can cut out a clip by pressing the right key to mark the beginning of the clip, then again to set the end of the clip. In the options menu, you can set the number of times for your clip to repeat, or the interval that it will repeat at. We're sure there's a great reason why you'd want to play the same clip ad infinitum with a 20 second silence between each iteration, but we can't think of any.

The Study Mode feature will let you skip a chosen interval whenever you press up or down. The intervals are 3, 10, 21, 30, 60, 120, or 180 seconds. You can set the number of times something will repeat

One interesting feature is the ability to set the speed at which you fast forward or reverse. It's under the Scan Speed setting.
