Sony Walkman X-series media player pricing and availability announced

U.S. Pricing and availability information for the Sony Walkman X-series media players first announced at CES in January . The Sony Style site now lists the 32GB NWZ-X1061 model at $399 with availability on or around June 20. The 16GB NWZ-X1051 model is listed at $299 with the same availability as the larger-capacity model. This pricing matches that of the 32GB and 16GB iPod Touch media players from Apple, respectively.

Both X-series media players have 3-inch OLED touchscreen color displays with a resolution of 432 x 240 pixels, and each will be able to play multiple common music and video file types. Wi-Fi connectivity, a web browsing application, and an FM radio are also on the feature list. Sony is offering 100 free music downloads from Sony Music with the purchase of an X-series player. Both models are now available for pre-order on the Sony Style site.
