Creative Labs has just announced an update to their Zen X-Fi player. The new X-Fi2 uses a 3-inch touch screen and is agressively priced, at $130 for an 8GB model.

The new player is an update to the X-Fi that we reviewed here. The main change is that the new X-Fi2 has no buttons- it is completely controlled through the 3-inch touch screen, which has a resolution of 400 by 240 pixels. It is available in capacities of 8GB, 16GB and 32GB, but all of the models also include a MicroSD card slot to add more capacity.
The X-Fi2 also adds support for more audio and video codecs, including the popular lossless FLAC format and support for the DivX and XviD video formats. The player itself is half an inch thick, and weighs just 2.6 ounces. Creative claims that the built-in battery can play music for up to 25 hours and video for 5. The new X-Fi2 will cost $130 for the 8GB version, $180 for the 16GB and $230 for the 32Gb version.
